THIS SECTION IS DEVOTED TO OUR RECENT STITCHED SHOP MODELS

We add approximately 4 to 6 new models every other month to our ever growing collection. These are the current New Shop Models that we have added in our shop.  We do not always stitch designs which are new, just whatever strikes our fancy.  Because a pattern is old doesn't make it any less attractive.  If the pattern is still available, after stitching, we then feature it as a New Shop Model on our walls.

If you like the way our shop models look, we now have added a feature that you can purchase the pattern or kit packaged by the manufacturer. You are ONLY purchasing the materials to make the design, not our finished model. These models are in this section for approx. 6 months than move to our Shop Model Tab listed under Book & Charts so you can still continued to view until the patterns or kits are not longer available.

Hope you like our selections!

SHOP MODEL-SEAGULL LOOKOUT KIT
Many of you may have wondered why I had not posted any new shop models since August - well here is the reason. It took me about 6 weeks to complete. I had this kit from Thea Gouverneur in my stash for some time, and just did not like the fabric that was in the kit because you stitch with one stand of floss, and it did not cover correctly. When I researched the kit offered now, I found that the fabric was changed from 25 Ct. Linen to 32 Ct. Linen which was more realistic. So here is my finished project which I loved to stitch, and was custom framed with a rustic grey barnwood style frame.

SHOP MODEL - LETTING GO
When we arranged to be the exclusive distributor for Diane Graebner, we received a pattern without a code number. When I called Diana, I found that not only did she send me a new pattern, but she had another in the works. This is that design - I used the recommended 18 Ct. White Aida, and DMC floss. The frame is a custom black. This is by far the most colorful Amish design that I have stitched and just love the finished result - hope you do too!

SHOP MODEL - POETRY YACHT KIT
As I mentioned previously I had no idea what I wanted to stitch this Summer. So I looked through some of my stash and found this kit from Thea Gouverneur that I had for a while and decided now was the time to stitch. My kit included 25 Ct. Linen, and I did change that to 28 Ct. Antique White Cashel Linen. I just loved the violets and it was not hard to stitch. Now I have a model that will go with our flower section as well as our nautical section - I did custom frame in a navy blue frame to bring out the blue in the violets.

SHOP MODEL - STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES
This is the first design that we received when we became the exclusive distributor for Diane Graebner Designs. I love stitching her Amish designs and we have many models in our shop. This one is done in greens and pinks as the little girls are looking at a rose topiary. I used 18 Ct. White Aida and DMC floss - I used a green mat and black frame. Nothing hard and it was actually a breeze to stitch. Hope you all like this one as much as I did!

SHOP MODEL - ANCHORS AWAY
With Summer winding down,I have completed a few new beach/nautical designs that I will be posting as they get framed. This design from X's & Oh's called out to me when it arrived in our shop. I used 32 Ct. Summer Sky Jobelan and 2 strands of DMC floss for all colors. I loved how the bird is looking at the anchor and the crab on the sand. Since I have not been to the beach for a few years, this brings back memories. The frame is a custom rustic brown

SHOP MODEL - BY THE SEA BEACH HUTS
When this pattern from Heritage Crafts came into our shop I just loved the colorful beach huts - so I added it to my Summer projects. There was nothing hard about this design, uses DMC and I stitched the model on 28 Ct. White Jobelan. The frame is a custom brushed light blue

SHOP MODEL - LAND OF LIBERTY ZIPPER
As I have stated many times, I just love the Bent Creek Zippers. There is nothing hard since they are done on 18 Ct. linen using pearl cotton. Everything is included even buttons, all you need to do is add a needle. Each year from May to July I love stitching patriotic designs, and this one was my car project which I finished at home since I was not doing any car trips in those months - again nothing hard, and I custom framed in a brushed edge dark blue frame

SHOP MODEL -LAND OF LIBERTY KIT
Everyone always asks what is my favorite fabric or designer - well I have no favorite and since I stitch on linen mostly, it is fun to use different fabrics for a change. This is a new kit from Shepherd's Bush and I had this frame sitting around waiting for something that would fit the opening. I used everything in the kit - no subs, and as you can see, it fit the opening. The frame came from Kohls's last year an I put it in my stash. The kit includes 10 Ct. Tula fabric and all flosses and button - doesn't it look great!

SHOP MODEL - LET'S LIVE BY THE SEA
Whenever I stitch a design that takes more than two weeks, once I finish, I always look for something that I can stitch up fast for instant gratification - this design is one of those type of projects. Plus I love the word designs from Imaginating and Ursula Michaels - nothing hard, done in two colors of DMC floss, and I used 32 Ct. White Jobelan. I stitched this before I was in my patriotic mood, so that I would be ready for my summer stitching early. The frame is a custom dark blue with brushed edges (I know it looks black, but it is really a navy blue)

SHOP MODEL - HERB GARDEN
For those of you who look at our shop models, you will notice that I stitch many Heritage Craft designs. I had been looking for something flowery, nothing big, yet colorful. When this design arrived in the shop, I felt this pattern fit the bill. I loved all the different herbs. and the little bees that accented throughout. This design is coded for DMC floss, and I used 28 Ct. White Jobelan for the fabric. The frame is a custom green to bring out the greens in the design

For those of you who visit our shop, all these new models are hanging on our walls.

SHOP MODEL-SUMMER GARDEN
As Spring goes into summer, I try to find floral designs to add to our Shop Models. This design from Country Cottage Needlework is an oldie, but goodie pattern. I just loved the flowers abloom in the garden with the white picket fence behind and different flower names accented throughout the rows of alphabet letters. Nothing hard, I used the recommended floss, and stitched on 32 Ct. Water Lily Linen from Wichelt. I did custom frame in a primitive white with brush markings. Well Summer - here I come!!

SHOP MODEL-SUMMER GARDEN
When I look for patterns to stitch, I do not always pick something new as you can tell from a few of these new Shop Models. This design is from Twisted Thread, and buttercups is a sign that Spring is here. Thought it made a wonderful new additon - nothing hard, again I used the recommended floss, and stitched on 32 Ct. Cream Belast Linen rather than the linen that was recommended. The frame is a premade 5x5 greeen

SHOP MODEL-CATS & BASKETS #3
I always like the Amish patterns from Diane Graebner, and she also designed many designs with cats. When I was looking for something to stitch that was had flowers and was easy, I found this set of designs with flowers and black cats. This design is pattern #3, and you get 4 different patterns in the pack, I believe the flowers are geared for each season. I think these flowers would be for Summer with the yellow, blue, and light orange floewrs. Again, I framed in a premade black frame. (You might see others from this set in the future.) I stitched this model on 18 Ct. White Aida using the recommended DMC floss

SHOP MODEL-FLYER
It seems that this Spring, I have taken a look at some patterns that I keep putting back in the pile, only to never get to the top. Well I always loved this design from Permin and kept putting off stitching - so I decided, now was as good as ever. There is nothing hard, actually it was enjoyable to stitch the flowers and watch this Shop Model come to life. For the cat lover, your kitty might want to sit in a window box just like the design, only I am sure the flowers would not look as nice. I know when I had a black kitty, he would have squashed them. I stitched this design on 28 Ct Antique White Jobelan using the recommended DMC floss. The frame I used is a black and custom fit to bring out the black cat and make the flowers jump out. Isn't he cute with those yellow/green eyes? He looks very realistic.

SHOP MODEL - SPRING IN YOUR STEP
Since it is still Spring, and when this pattern arrived in our shop, I felt it would make a wonderful addition to our shop models. I used 28 Ct. Ice Blue Cashel Linen as the fabric that was recommended is no longer available, and the recommended flosses. The frame is a custom colonial pink to bring out the pinks in the design. Isn't it so cute!

SHOP MODEL - SKEP OF BEES ZIPPER
As I have stated many times, my daughter lives over an hour away from my home, so when we go and visit, I usually take along something to stitch in the car. I try to take something easy due to the bumps in the roads, and recently I have taken Vervaco pillow kits or Bent Creek Zippers. This bees skep is a Bent Creek Zipper kit which takes no time at all to stitch. The fabric in the kit is 18 Ct. Linen and includes all flosses and beads. I did custom frame in an antique yellow frame

SHOP MODEL - QUAKER EASTER EGG
When I was looking for Easter designs for shop models, I came across this Easter Egg design from Bent Creek and felt it would make a wonderful addition for our walls. Nothing hard, I did stitch on the recommended 32 Ct. Summer Khaki Belast linen using the recommended floss. The frame I used is rustic brown to bring out the colors in the egg

SHOP MODEL-LITTLE BOY FROM THE BOOKMARK COLLECTION
When I stitched the Grandpa design from The Bookmark Collection book by Told In A Garden, I found that there were many designs in the book that I had not stitched. I have over 14 shop models from this book, but since there are over at least 8 or 10 that I did not stitch, I picked this cute design to stitch and add to our Amish wall. I most likely will be stitching more in the coming months. These are the only designs that I stitch on 14 Ct. Aida - I used Sage, and they are coded for DMC floss. Again nothing hard, and I did frame in a small brown frame

SHOP MODEL-CATS RULE - IT'S SPRING
When I was looking for a few items to stitch for Spring, I came across this cute design from Heritage Crafts and the daffodils called my name. I just loved the little kitty - nothing hard and this design fit a 5" x 5" green frame. Isn't he cute!!

SHOP MODEL-EGGCELLENT EASTER TREE
When I was putting away patterns in our Easter section, I came across this cute design from Glendon Place. However, I did not like the fabric that the designer used. Hence, I called Crossed Wing Collection and they dyed this fabric to give the appearance of ground and sky. Thought it turned out nice and I framed in a custom antique light green frame. I did use the Dinky Dyes pearl cotton instead of DMC or Anchor as I like the look of the markings - hope you all like it too. Again, nothing hard -

NOTE: WE HAD CROSSED WING COLLECTION DYE THIS FABRIC FOR US AND AM OFFERING THE SIZE OF THE PIECE THAT WE USED IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED

SHOP MODEL-MINI BLOCK - STITCH
If you have never tried a mini block pattern from Hinzeit - you might want to give them a look. These designs stitch up very fast and the charms make the piece. I had this design in my stash, had the frame as well, and after doing the top two designs, I wanted to do something to give instant gratification - this one did the trick. I used the recommended floss, or you can use any two colors of your choice, and stitched on 28 Ct. White Cashel Linen

SHOP MODEL-I LOVE YOU
Since we have a black cat display in our shop, when Diane Graebner released this design, I thought it would make a wonderful new addition. Nothing hard to stitch, and I did use 18 Ct. White Aida and the DMC recommended floss colors. The frame I used was black with raised bumps around the edge. Isn't it cute - would make a nice Valentine's gift for the cat lover

SHOP MODEL-GRANDPA FROM THE BOOKMARK COLLECTION
This design is located in the Bookmark Collection from Told in the Garden. There are over 20 designs in this book that are small, and even a sampler is included that is large. I have stitched probably at least half of them. All are done on 14 Ct. Aida mostly Sage, using DMC floss. Some fabric listed have been discontinued, but these designs lend themselves to other fabric colors, so they are easy to sub. This design has an Amish Grandpa looking at his grandkids. I framed in a plain small black frame

SHOP MODEL-HARES HUNT
Since it took me two months to stitch A Churchyard Christmas, I tried to catch up with my stitching once I completed that design. Along the way, I tried to stitch something for Easter and Spring ahead of schedule. When this cute design arrived in March, I just knew from doing other rabbit designs that this would be a great design to stitch. I used the recommended fabric and hand-dyed flosses and framed in a custom rustic looking brown

SHOP MODEL-LET'S BE FROZEN
When March 1st arrived and I had no new Winter models, I figured on stitching something that would not take too long to complete. I just loved this design from Imaginating and used the DMC recommended flosses. The frame is a brushed edge Navy custom. If you have not tried any designs in the Let's series by Imaginating, you might want to take a look and see - they are easy to stitch and look nice when completed as you can see. I think this is one of my favorites - and I will be stitching more as the year progresses

SHOP MODEL-SNOWMAN OF SNOWFLAKES ZIPPER
As I mentioned before, when I take car trips, I usually take along my stitching. This was a new release from Bent Creek and I thought it would make a good model for Winter. Nothing hard, and stitched up fast. I picked a light blue rustic frame. These kits in the Zipper series always include 18 Ct. Linen and DMC floss or pearl cotton. For those who are afraid of the Linen - you can always sub with 10 Ct. Tula, but if you try the linen - stitching over two threads give you a 9 count, which is a large X than the 10 Ct. Tula.

SHOP MODEL-A CHURCHYARD CHRISTMAS
Some of you probably wondered why I have not posted a new shop model for some time. Well here is the answer. I started this wonderful design on January 2nd, and finished stitching around the end of February. There was so much detail, as you can see, that I really enjoyed the challenge. I have stitched other Christmas scenes from Praiseworthy Stitches, and I think this one is my favorite so far. I used all the recommended floss and fabric.

When I stitched using WDW snowflake, I did 1/2 x's and then crossed them rather than doing each x separately. It gave the white a softer appearance and since snowflake has touches of pink and blue, which will show if you do each x individually. I wanted to give the snow a softer appearance, not a mismarked snow. I have used this method on another of the Praiseworthy designs, and loved the look it attained. Hope you all like this offering - it was fun. I did frame in a custom cherry with an antique gold lip

SHOP MODEL-SNOW AND ICE
This new design from Little House Needleworks reminds me of my childhood when you could ice skate on a frozen lake so I had to stitch for a shop model - I did change the fabric to 28 Ct. Natural with Silver from Fabric Flair to give it a look of tiny falling snow flakes - other than that, I used all recommended flosses and framed in a premade from from Mill Hill that had snow covered trees and snow at the bottom

SHOP MODEL-WINTER FEEDING
I just love Diane Graebner Amish designs. They are easy to stitch and the only thing that I stitch on aida. When I was looking for a design for Christmas, yet for still Winter, this little design called my name. It turned out so cute with the little girl feeding geese, and if you notice, there are decorated pine trees in the background for Christmas. I used 18 Ct. Opalescent Aida and DMC floss. The frame is a 6x6 plain black.

SHOP MODEL-THE GOOD TIDINGS
This design from The Drawn Thread arrived in our shop, and I knew that it would become a shop model. I love the simple, yet elegant look of the design. Nothing like saying "Merry Christmas: and having a few birds wearing Santa hats perched on a snow covered branch and little flakes accenting. I used on 28 Ct. Tumbleweed Linen rather than the 32 Ct. noted on the pattern, but did use the recommended silk floss. I loved how the shading turned out on the lettering. The frame I used is a black frame with dark green overlayed to bring out the words.

SHOP MODEL-GINGERBREAD VILLAGE
When I was hunting for some fast designs to stitch for Christmas ( I had a large project that I was going to work on, and knew it would take long), I decided to combine five design in the Gingerbread Village series from Country Cottage Needlework. I did not have to add any rows, just attached them in a row. I had wanted a large house in the middle, and on each side one facing, then I decided to just all the patterns with snow on the ends. I did not add buttons - just stitched with the recommended flosses. I decided to use the 32 Ct. Raw with White Dots Belfast and did not stitch any snowflakes. The frame is a custom brown to bring out the gingerbread. It was fun and is one of my favorites

Note patterns used were CCNGV07, 04, 03, 05, and 02

SHOP MODEL-GOODIE GUMDROP TREE
As I always state, when I pick design to stitch for a shop model, they are not always new. This design from Praiseworthy Stitches was in my stash for some time, and when I came across it in December, I added it to my list of designs to stitch for Christmas. I had a gumdrop tree when I was young, and it brought back memories - so I just had to stitch. I used all the recommended floss and beads, but stitched on 28 Ct RawGold Cashel Linen to give it more sparkle. The frame is a custom light fern green that matched the colors in the design

SHOP MODEL-GINGERBEAD STREET
When this design from Little House Needlework arrived in our shop, I knew we had a premade frame that would work - so I just had to stitch for a model. I used 32 Ct. Amber Linen and the recommended flosses. The frame is from Mill Hill and has a 5.75x5.75 opening.

Watch in the next few weeks for the rest of my holiday shop model additions. I will post as soon as they are framed

SHOP MODEL-LIGHTHOUSE CUSHION
Since I completed two other pillow kits by Vervaco, I decided that I wanted to do more. So - I looked through their offerings and found this lighthouse for a Summer pillow. I intend to do a mate next Summer - nothing hard- this is a kit that includes 4.5 painted canvas and you cross stitch with poly yarn. These are great kits to take on a trip since you do not need to look at a pattern, just follow the painted colors. Our finished made this into a pillow - backed in blue and corded with a white braid

SHOP MODEL-SANTA IN PLAID HAT PiILLOW
As I said before, I love these pillow kits, and when I visit my daughter who lives over an hour away, I usually take one and stitch in the car. I started this kit when I completed the lighthouse in late August, early September. I chose a polka dot red backing, and corded with a red braid. I also picked up enough supplies to do another pillow - the reindeer pillow that matches, for next year. Our finisher made the 16" x 16" pillow - again there is nothing hard about doing cross stitches on 4.5 Ct. canvas. Gives you instant gratification and is really very easy to see and stitch.

SHOP MODEL-MINI BLOCK CHRISTMAS-SILVER
Since I have so many patterns to look at daily, I sometimes pick older designs to stitch for a shop model that I liked, just never had time to add to my collection - this design from Hinzeit is one of those. It was easy to stitch, I used Sampler flosse rather than DMC - Garnet for the red, and Forest Green for the green, and stitched on 28 Ct. Opalescent Cashel Linen. The frame is a custom cherry

SHOP MODEL-CANDY CANE OF CHRISTMAS ZIPPER
As many of you know, I just LOVE the Bent Creek Zipper kits. They are presorted, done on 18 Ct. Linen, and very easy to stitch. When this new kit arrived, I immediately snagged one and used it as my car project. Well, I liked it so much, and only stitched on it one day in the car, I just added to my collection and finished it at home - I chose a custom green frame to bring out the border

SHOP MODEL-CHRISTMAS TANGLE
Since we have an extensive cat display in our shop, and found that some patterns are no longer available - hense, we cannot use the model. So I took a look at the Heritage Crafts cats, and found this cutie for Christmas. I used White 32 Ct. Jobelan so that it would fit into the premade Mill Hill 6"x6" frame that I used.

There is a matching pattern where the kitty is on the tree top, so you might see that pattern stitched sometime in the future - depends when the spirit moves me

SHOP MODEL-HAPPY THANKSGIVING
I know I must sound like a broken record, but I do look at older designs when picking what I want to stitch - this design from Shepherd's Bush is very old, but a lovely addition for those who love Thanksgiving. I stitched it on 20 Ct. Mocha Linen from Weeks Dye Works as the recommended color of fabric is no longer available. I used the recommended flosses with the exception of the Thread Gather silks which I substituted with Weeks Hand Dyed Pearl Cotton. The frame is wide antique browm with a little gold around the edge.

Again, this stitched up quickly since using pearl cotton and going over 2 fabric threads on a large count of linen, does go fast.

SHOP MODEL-THE LITTLES: TOM TURKEY
With Thanksgiving fast approaching, I wanted to stitch a few fast designs relating to the holiday. I found this cute turkey from Bent Creek on my hunt - nothing hard and very fast. I used 28 Ct. Lambswool Linen and the recommended floss. The frame is a premade 2.5x2.5

SHOP MODEL-HALLOWE'EN BARN
This was the last Halloween design I stitched for 2016. When Notforgotten Farm sent us a newsletter that this design was coming, I just could not wait for it's arrival. It is something different for a Halloween design with a farm and the witch riding on a donkey - Nothing hard - uses DMC floss and I chose 28 Ct. Smoky White Cashel Linen to give it an old look

SHOP MODEL-PUMPKIN COTTAGE
Since I stitched a few models for Halloween, I looked for a few designs that would be good for Autumn, not a specific holiday. I came across this design from Country Cottage Needework that fits the bill - I used 28 Ct. Cafe Mocha Linen and the recommended flosses. The frame was a custom dark green

SHOP MODEL-HAPPY HARVEST
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I found this little design also from Country Cottage Needlework that just screamed - stitch me. I loved the colors and found this pre-made frame from Mill Hill that just fit. The pumpkins matched. I did stitch on 32 Ct. Lambswool Linen and used the recommended floss. Nothing hard and fast to stitch

SHOP MODEL-LET'S LOVE AUTUMN
I just love doing the word designs by Ursula Michael and Imaginating - this one features just two maple leaves - so rather than stitch on white, I used 28 Ct. Ivory Jobelan to give it a more Autumn look. DMC floss was used for all the stitching, and I framed in a custom brown frame

SHOP MODEL-BEWITCHING PIXIE - MIERVA
Last year I really enjoyed stitching Electra, another Bewitching Pixie in the series by Nora Corbett. The colors were so striking - so rather than stitch another haunted house, I choose another Pixie. The teal colors in the dress are outstanding, and looks rich like silk - hope you like my selection. I used all recommended flosses and beads - the frame I used is Black
