THIS SECTION IS DEVOTED TO OUR RECENT STITCHED SHOP MODELS
We add approximately 4 to 6 new models every other month to our ever growing collection. These are the current New Shop Models that we have added in our shop. We do not always stitch designs which are new, just whatever strikes our fancy. Because a pattern is old doesn't make it any less attractive. If the pattern is still available, after stitching, we then feature it as a New Shop Model on our walls.
If you like the way our shop models look, we now have added a feature that you can purchase the pattern or kit packaged by the manufacturer. You are ONLY purchasing the materials to make the design, not our finished model. These models are in this section for approx. 6 months than move to our Shop Model Tab listed under Book & Charts so you can still continued to view until the patterns or kits are not longer available.
Hope you like our selections!

| SHOP MODEL-SNOWBALLS AND ICICLES |

Sometimes when I look for something to stitch, I look for small cute designs - this one from Designs by Ethel was just want I wanted. I loved the winter theme, used a piece of 28 Ct. Crystal Helix from PTP that I had in my stash, and found a frame in our sale frames that worked.

| SHOP MODEL-POP OF SUMMER ZIPPER |
|
As many of you know if you read about my models that I just love the Zipper kits from Bent Creek. The include 18 Ct. Linen, all flosses, and all you need to add is a needle. When I sit in the car on the way to my Daughter's, she lives 1 1/2 hours away, it give me something to do. For those who are afraid of linen, the block over 2 threads makes the X a 9 count, which is a bigger X than 14 Ct. Aida. I frames in a brushed red custom
( Note: I finished Pop of Winter Zipper when I was sittingin the waiting room for 12 hours at the hospital when my son and husband had surgery recently - it took 5 hours and I will be posting once it is framed)

| SHOP MODEL-T'WAS THE NIGHT |
|
Everybody thinks when a new pattern comes in, we should stitch it as a shop model. Not here at YOCS. I pick and choose what I like, and this design from Sue Hillis is an oldie, but goodie. I was looking for something Christmas in December that was a little different, and this pattern was just what I wanted. I loved the holly in the border. I stitched the model on 32 Ct. Antique Ivory Belfast Linen, and this pattern is again coded for DMC. The frame is a custom gold

| SHOP MODEL-2016 PRAIRIE SANTA |
|
Since I have not stitched a Prairie Schooler Santa for a while, I decided to do one as a new model. I looked through their patterns and settled on the 2016 as I wa attracted to the reindeer. I used French Knots for his beard to make it a little different. I did stitch on the recommended 18 Ct. Khaki Davos with DMC floss, and framed in a pre-made 4x6 frame
SANTA'S REVISITED XI INCLUDES THE 2009, 2011, & 2016 PRAIRIE SCHOOLER SANTAS

| SHOP MODEL-GOSSAMER SLIPPER SHOE ART KIT |
|
In October a customer placed an order for this kit from Bothy Threads. When I was packaging the order, I took a close look and just loved this pattern - so I decided to order a kit for me to stitch as a shop model. As all Bothy Kit, everything is nicely separated and labeled, and always includes 14 Ct. Aida. The frame is a custom silver and black to pick out the spider web. Isn't it cute!

| SHOP MODEL-THE AUTUMN GARDEN |
|
In one of my earlier posts, I noted that I was turning over a new leaft and finishing up series - well this is one of those that I did 2 sesons and still have one more to go. The pattern is from The Drawn Thread. I used 28 Ct. Antique Lambswool Linen and the recommended Silk flosses. If you have ever done any patterns from The Drawn Thread, she has a tendency to use the same pallet of colors, so you only need to purchase a skein or two of floss (just for your info - silk floss goes further than cotton floss as it has more plys) I also like this brand of patterns as they feature some different stitches which give her designs a unique look. I did stitch with 2 ply of floss rather than the recommended one ply that she states. The specialty stitches were stitch as direted. I like denser colors. and find that using one ply is too light looking for me. The frame is a custom walnut

| SHOP MODEL - SUMMER |
|
As I aways state, I have a tendency to stitch Madam Chantilly patterns because they are fun, and look nice when done. When this pattern was released, I knew I would welcome it as a wall model - however, there were major errors on the pattern, which the designer stated and is going to re-print. She also has the corrections on her web site. My model is correct. I wanted to stith something for Summer, nothing involved, and this pattern fit the bill. Loved the fish and lighthouse. The fabric is 32 Ct. Natural Belfast Linen. The frame I used is a blushed blue custom.

A you will notice if you look at our shop model, I just love stitching the Bent Creek Zipper kits. They are not hard, most are done on 18 Ct. This fun butterfly tree called my name and I framed with a matching blue frame

|
Usually I like to stitch patterns relating to the season or holidays. When this piece from Shannon Christine arrived in the shop, I loved the fireworks - so I had to add to my stash and stitch. | SHOP MODEL - UBER FLAG |
|
This model was a long time coming. Again, I like Bent Creek patterns and kits that are done on 18 Ct Linen as they are easy to stitch in the car when I am traveling to my daughter's, which is an hour and 1/2 away from me. I had started this on one of my trips, and it was finished in April. I picked out a red frame, never thinking it would become a problem. Well - when my frame did not arrive by July,I akd my framer for a suggestion for a patrotic pattern that I wanted to hang this year - my frame man suggested the frame that I finally used and it has become such a hit.

| SHOP MODEL-AUTUMN TOWN |
|
This project I had started in November by Autumnn Lane Stitchery, and did not have the red Gloria Silk that was needed in the pattern, I put it away and the foss arrived in January and I thought I would wait until eptember to finish the stitching. . When I was sick, I had no idea what to stitch, so I picked ths project up and finished it. Yes, I could have substitued the red floss, using the DMC red, but I tried that and the trees looked like blobs - and I was not sure what the red Gloria looked like so I could not sub with a Weeks floss. Again, I decided to wait it out. I love how the red trees turned out, and felt it was worth the wait. When you look at this framed, it has a 3-D appearance.Th fabric I used was 28 Ct. Golden Needle Linen from Wichelt. I decided to frame with a yellow frame that bings out the yellow trees.

It has been a while since I posted shop models. Frames were the issue and I like to post in the order that I stitch the model. When all is said and done, I will have more than 10 new models, not counting the 2 that are still waiting on frames from Christmas - so please excuse if I post out of date.
