NOTE FROM THE DESIGNER:
The five smallest ships in the Royal Sumatran Red Navy are set to sail into the port of Nashville just in time for the Needlework Market. These five small red ships (the Dinghy, the Canoe, the Jon Boat, the Runabout, and the Skiff) are each depicted in the fashion of their larger Red Ship counterparts with top and bottom borders, but are also arranged in a way that they can be stitched together as a single sampler. The Red Ships in all their various sizes have all been inspired by antique Sumatran weaving motifs.
