373x445 - Hands Across The Sea Samplers presents this English reproduction sampler that was stitched when Mary Lea was 11 years of age in 1793 - features a beautiful border of lilies and carnations, in the center is a large manor house framed by poplar and pine trees, a cat and dog stand guard as well as two footmen holding candles; an array of other motifs - squirrels, butterflies, birds, owls, peacocks, ducks, apple trees, roses, and lilies; as well as two angels who represent the Voice of God are contained with the verse surrounded by a rose bud border - coded for Soie d'Alger or DMC
