JULY, 2026

       Summer is here and so is the heat. In the coming days my part of the country will be experiencing record braking temps - 104 and 105 which is unheard of especially with all the festivities planned for July 4th in Phila. an surrounding areas. Now some have been scaled back since it is going to be so oppressive. With it being so hot, is it very uncomfortable to sit outside - so now is a good time to take a stock of your projects and sit indoors in the comfort of a fan or air conditioner and stitch. We know these temperatures are only going to last a few days, then everyone will be able to go outside and sit in the sun and enjoy the rest of there summer.

       I want to take a minute and thank everyone for their patience with regards to the bead packs for Lady of the Flag. We had elected to send the patterns so you could at least stitch the pattern, and at our expense send the bead pack when Mill Hill sent the packs to us. We had no idea it would take so long as we were never out of a bead color for months in all the years we carried Mill Hill beads. Well the good news is they are on the way to us as I write this newsletter and we will ship the day they arrive. Also - we have noticed higher than usual people ordering, and when we are ready to ship, find that their credit card is declined. We usually give a call, then send an e-mail. Many of you already are aware there is a card issue give us a call, and we then take the new card info over the phone. However, there are those who place and order, and we call more than once still not hearing back from them. If you decide you do not want the order you placed, a quick call or e-mail will do the trick. We pull your order and many times multi people order the same product. We hate to hold the other order, however we fill first come and wait for a return call. Please be courteous - our phone takes messages 24 hours a day - a simple I no longer care for the order would be appreciated instead of our wondering and waiting for a return call to no avail.

       We are still going through our invetory and adding many patterns to our 50% Off Sale to make room for the new releases coming in our upcoming August Market. Many are patterns discontinued by our distributors and designers or the companies are no longer in business. Some we even stitched as shop models. We will also be adding more discontinued and odd cuts of fabric to our One Time Only Fabric Sale. Counters are added that will count down as items are sold.

       Industry news updates - Nothing has changed. Picture This Plus is running 3 to 4 months and we just received some colors back in stock. Kreinik is still an issue - we have added some metallic from Au Ver Au Soie that are good subs for #4 Braid. Most times we will NOT back order Kreinik flosses since we never know if or when they will arrive - we send what we have and ask you to reorder after 2 months unless we know flosses are on the way. Same for for Gentle Art flosses - they do not back order to us, so we have to keep ordering the same floss colors week after week or if they do get in the color, we could miss the boat and they could run out of the color again. This is not ideal, but all shops are experiencing the same issues. Let's hope these companies get their act together. With regards to Mill Hill, they not only have all seed bead colors back into stock, but all the Magnifica Beads as well are now back in stock after months of our thinking they were being discontinued for good. Zweigart has also added new fabric with patterns that we are waiting to arrive - Wildflower Meadow Print in 32 Ct. Linen, Coral Reef in 32 Ct. Lugana, and others - even a Spring Air Print with the look of sand and sky. Summer also brings challanges - This is also holiday, vacation, graduation, and family time for designers and distributors. Please remember it might take a little longer for us to get in a restock due to this time of year. We have had a pattern on order with one designer for 3 weeks only to find that she is in Europe on vacation. No one gives us their schedule - we know once she arrives home, our restock will be shipped to us. In other words - order well in advance - we ship the day items arrive and only charge you for what we ship. If we need to split an order, we pick up the additional postage.
