THIS SECTION IS DEVOTED TO OUR RECENT STITCHED SHOP MODELS

We add approximately 4 to 6 new models every other month to our ever growing collection. These are the current New Shop Models that we have added in our shop.  We do not always stitch designs which are new, just whatever strikes our fancy.  Because a pattern is old doesn't make it any less attractive.  If the pattern is still available, after stitching, we then feature it as a New Shop Model on our walls.

If you like the way our shop models look, we now have added a feature that you can purchase the pattern or kit packaged by the manufacturer. You are ONLY purchasing the materials to make the design, not our finished model. These models are in this section for approx. 6 months than move to our Shop Model Tab listed under Book & Charts so you can still continued to view until the patterns or kits are not longer available.

Hope you like our selections!

SHOP MODEL-INTERNATIONALS - STATUE OF LIBERTY
I loved this design for some time, and since I stitched Niagara Falls some time ago, felt it was time for a new wall model from the International series by Heritage Crafts. I used 28 Ct. White Jobelan, and the recommended DMC floss. The frame is gold with a little wash - no mat was used, I left one inch around the design. If you ever visited this historic site - you will love this lovely design. It is very realistic.

SHOP MODEL-AUTUMN ZIPPER
Since it is now Autumn, I had this Bent Creek Zipper kit in my stash and decided now was the time to stitch it - it was done on 18 Ct. Linen using perle cotton which was included in the kit. I custom framed in a two-tone brown frame

SHOP MODEL-SUMMER
When I was finishing up my Summer stitching, I had this design in picked out, but did not like the fabric that was recommended by the designer. So after a little thought, I decided to stitch on 28 Ct. Summer Sky Jobelan. Since some letters are white, I back stitched around those, and that was the only change I made. The frame is a custom blue with a brushed edge which brings out the blues.

SHOP MODEL-TO THE BEACH - ON BEACH TIME
As you can see, I am still in the beachy mood, and really liked this design from Hands on Design when it arrived. I did stitch on the 32 Ct. Queen Anne's Linen fabric using the recommended flosses. The frame is a premade that I purchased on my travels

SHOP MODEL-WORDPLAY - BEACH HUTS
This is another small design that I found when looking for some small patterns to stitch, and since we had the frame in stock, decided to make as a model. It is from Hinzeit, and if you have ever stitched any of their designs, they are easy and use DMC floss. I did used 28 Ct. White Jobelan for the fabric, but 14 Ct. White Aida will also do. Any 5x5 premade frame will also work for this design

SHOP MODEL-JOYFUL JOURNAL: AUGUST
I had this design in my stash since last year, and since it is now August, felt now was the time to do as a shop model. I changed the background to 28 Ct. Waterfull Blue Evenweave by Fabric Flair to give the background a little teal look - the frame was a dark blue premade 5x5 - hope you like my new model

SHOP MODEL-LIGHTHOUSE SAMPLER
This Summer when I had an opportunity to visit the local craft shops, and of course, Kohl's, I found they has a nice array of premade frame with beach themes - this is one I puchased and then I looked through some of the patterns in the shop, and found the Lighthouse Sampler that is comprised of nine small lighthouse designs - I chose the one with the black and white stripes and sailboats because of the teal at the bottom of the frame - I did stitch on 28 Ct. Star Sapphire Linen

SHOP MODEL-THE SEA
I fell in love with this design from Fireside Originals when it was released. I just love to snorkle and this design reminded me of the Caribbean and the wonderful fish and coral that you see under the sea. The x-tra added bonus was the verse. I stitched the design on 28 Ct. Crystal Tempest from Picture this Plus using the recommended flosses. When my framer came into the shop with new frames, I felt this rustic turquoise was a good fit - hope you like it as much as I do.

We are also offering a frame and mounting kit if anyone is interested for the do-it-yourselfer. Includes the frame that I used, padding, mounting board, push pins, a saw tooth hanger, and instructions. All you need to do is mount your stitching and everything is included for hanging on the wall.

SHOP MODEL-TO THE BEACH - FLOCK TOGETHER

SHOP MODEL-TO THE BEACH - ADJUST YOUR SAILS
This is another design from the To The Beach series by Hands on Design - again I loved the finished size and used the recommended fabric and flosses - so I mounted in a pre-made frame that I purchased from AC Moore.

When you are visiting the chain craft stores or Kohl's - take a look at their premade frames as you might find some good buys for next to nothing. I know I have and you will see a few more of my purchased frames when I get a few more designs finished from this series.

SHOP MODEL-BUNNNIES ON THE BEACH
I just love those long ear bunnies, and this design is from Madam Chantilly I found when I was looking for some beach designs to stitch as models. I tried to find a fabric that would really compliment, rather than using the recommended natural linen, and came up with 28 Ct. Sea, Sand, & Sky Linen from Fabric Flair. I used the recommended DMC floss and custom framed. This fabric is also available in 14 Ct. Aida for those who do not like linen. Isn't it cute! Makes me want to dip my foot in the ocean.

Any time I use a custom frame, if anyone is interested, we do offer frame kits in the size we used that includes the frame, mounting board, padding, saw tooth hanger, and instructions for a do-it-yourself

SHOP MODEL-MEMORIAL PARK
I just love Praiseworthy Designs especially their scenes. This is their latest offering and I just had to stitch it. I used 32 Ct. Limestone Lugana which is a light green (the designers recommend stitching on a light green as their model was done on a R & R fabric that is no longer available). I did not change a thing, only added a pole to one of the girls that is sitting on the fence as it was missed, and did the poles in brown, instead of the black color that was noted on the chart. When I looked at the photo and saw that the poles where brown, I did contact the designer and was told that their model has black poles. However, from my experience, banner poles are brown, not black. Hense - mine are brown. I just love the finished look. The buttons add the finishing touch, and our model was framed in a custom Navy frame to bring out the blues. I'm sure if you are a baseball lover, then you will enjoy this design. As they say - Play Ball!!

SHOP MODEL-SPRING
As many of you might know, I like the Cricket Collection word patterns. When I was filing away patterns, I came across this design for Spring, but hesitated because I did not like the fabric color the designer used. So, I pull the floss colors and found Raspberry Lite Jobelan. It gives the design a Spring look. I framed in a soft brown frame

SHOP MODEL-COTTAGE GARDEN
Country Cottage Needleworks is one of my favorite designers and this was a kit that they made with Classic Colorworks. I chose White Jobelan instead of the recommended fabric as I wanted a crisp look. The frame is a pre-made green frame

SHOP MODEL-SPRING SHOWERS
As many of you know, I stitch what inspires me. When I was putting pictures on my home page for Spring, I came across this design from Imaginating that I loved from last year - so here is this new addition to our model collection. I stitched it on 28 Ct. White Lugana, and framed in a brushed edge green frame

SHOP MODEL-GARDEN SPOTS
As you can see from all that I'm posting, I can stitch fast. That is why I usually do not stitch small projects. But I found a few designs that were put on the back burner for some time, and now was the time to complete them. This design from The Trilogy was stitched on 28 Ct. Lambswool Linen using the recommended floss. Instead of using a charm, I decided to use a bee button from JAB, and framed in a premade green frame

SHOP MODEL-HAPPY CHIRP CHIRP DAY
I just love red cardinals, so when I saw this design from The Trilogy, I know I was going to stitch it for a model. I used 32 Ct. Natural Linen and framed in a cherry frame

SHOP MODEL-SPRING IN THE GARDEN
We carry a stock of little designs from Elizabeth's Designs called Little Leaf. These designs include specialty floss and sometimes a charm. This design is one of those and I used 32 Ct. Cream Belfast for the fabric, and a 4x4 premade gold frame.

SHOP MODEL-BOX OF SPRING
Since we lost our Easter decorating this year, I had to come up with more Spring designs for our walls. So - I went on a hunt and found many little designs that took no time at all to stitch. Then we had new for our walls. This design is from By The Bay Needleart and I used 32 Ct. Lambswool Linen with the recommended floss. I might do the rest of the seasons at a later date as there is nothing hard, and I really like the results.

As you all can see - I do not always stitch the newest design for wall models.

SHOP MODEL-SPRING VIOLETS
As I stated previously, when I pick designs to stitch as models, I look for designs that are interesting, and appealing. This design from Country Cottage Needlework fit for Spring - I liked the verse, and especially the colors - the frame is a customer purple to bring out the violets. I used the recommended floss and fabric

SHOP MODEL-HARES SPRING
For some reason since last year I have been attacked to these cute bunnies by Plum Street Samplers. Since I stitched a few last year, I figured I might do more - this design stitched up fast and can hang all year long. I just love the lolly pop style flowers. I stitched the design on 32 Ct. African Daisy Jobelan using the recommended floss and framed in a cherry colored frame

SHOP MODEL-WEE SPRING DAY
As any of you already know, I like to stitch designs that pretain to the time of year. When I was scouting for some little designs to stitch, I found this one from Heart in Hand that only took a few days to complete. I used the recommended floss and framed in a custom green frame

SHOP MODEL-LET'S THINK SPRING
Since I liked this design from Imaginating and posted it on my Home Page as my pick, I decided to add it to my stitchin list. I stitched this on 32 Ct. White Jobelan, and I matched the DMC to sampler thread - so I changed the colors. Again, nothing hard to stitch, in fact it was fun. I did frame in a custom blue frame that matched the blue floss that I used.

SHOP MODEL-APRIL
As many of you knowI love the monthly word designs from The Cricket Collection. Since I started with May last year and ended with August, I have a lot of catching up to do. Last month I stitched March, so April was the next month on my list. However, I was having a hard time visualizing grey fabric with taupe floss lettering when April is usually such a colorful time of year with the flowers finally starting to bloom. So I changed the background to Honeysuckle Pink Jobelan (it has been discontinued, but Lite Raspberry Jobelan is a good match), and used Tea Rose Sampler thread for the lettering. I custom framed in a rose color frame that matched the lettering beautifully. Now - this is how I think of April!

SHOP MODEL-LITTLE IRISH COTTAGE
When I was picking out designs for St. Patrick's Day, I came across this new release from Bent Creek and figured it was a good one to add to our models. I stitched it on 28 Ct. SHOP MODEL-ICE SKATING GLOBE ZIPPER
I just love the Zipper Kits from Bent Creek for take-a-longs. I stitched this design when I took car trips to visit my daughter this past winter. You get 18 Ct. Linen, so it is easy to see, and easy to stitch when someone else is driving. All you need to add is the needle as everything is pre-sorted in little bags in a zip pouch. I did frame in a green frame. She was a joy to stitch, however I am glad Winter is finally over. Now I'm looking for a new car project.

To finish my Winter picks this year I found this cute little design from Bent Creek that took no time to stitch, and I framed in a premade red frame. Hope you like my new additions and if you stop in our shop, they are currently hanging on our walls.

I did stitched on the 28 Ct. Country Blue and fit in a pre-made frame

SHOP MODEL-SANTA'S HOUSE
Last year Iona, who works in the shop, stitched this design. I just loved how it looked. So after Christmas I decided it was time to add this to our shop models. I stitched it on the 28 Twilight Lugana using all the recommended flosses and beads. It was really fun to stitch, and took some time to complete. But since there is no contest as to who finishes their picture first, I really did not care. I just loved the results. It was custom framed with a silver inner mat, red suede outer mat, and a silver/gold ornate frame. Sometimes it is just fun to do a big project. Take a chance - this one is worth the effort.

SHOP MODEL-BUNNY CUSHION
When I travel I stitch in the car. It is very hard to stitch on linen and aida when the road is bumpy - so I found this kit from Vervaco that is cross stitch that you stitch on large count canvas. The kit includes the canvas and flosses - the backing is NOT included. It was fun, no hassel stitching, making large x's with yarn, and I had our finisher complete as a pillow.

SHOP MODEL-DUCKLINGS WITH DAISIES
This is another wonderful kit from Vervaco that you stitch on canvas using acrylic yarn. All you do is follow the painted design, no chart to follow, and make x's with the yarn. Again I stitched this when I traveled in the car. The kit includes all materials to finish the front of the pillow. Our finishee made the pillow for me. These are fun to stitch kits, and very easy. Can easily finish one in two weeks with only stitching a few hours every day.

SHOP MODEL-HARES CHRISTMAS
When I was picking our my Christmas designs to stitch, I found this cute one from Plum Street Sampler that just appealed to me. As you will notice, this was not a new design, but a fun one none the less. The designer recommended Buttercream Linen from Lakeside which I did start to use, then I just did not like the floss colors on the linen. I found that they did not jump out for a Christmas piece - so I changed the background to Cashel Opal/Raw, and also used Oatmeal for the snowflakes rather than the recommended Roasted Marshmallow and Garnet for the red. The frame was a custom Red with a brushed edge that matched the colors in the design. Hope you all like my finished result as much as I did.

SHOP MODEL-MERRY BREW
This was another design that called out to me from Plum Street Samplers when it arrived in our shop. I just loved Santa on the roof, and the stack of reindeers alongside. I did stitch on the recommended fabric only in 32 Ct. rather than the 36 Ct., and I also changed the red hand=dyed floss to more of a red than the color that was recommended. I custom framed in a Dark Green brush edge frame

SHOP MODEL-SEASON'S GREETINGS
During the holidays I love stitching Christmas designs - this year I looked through my stash and found this design that I pulled some time ago - it was very easy to stitch, and I mounted in a pre-made frame that I found at Kohl's. I did use the recommended floss, however I stitched it on 28 Ct. Amber Linen as I liked that color

SHOP MODEL-CHRISTMAS COVE
We had the By The Bay Needleart Trunk show in our shop a few years ago, and this design stayed in the back of my mind to stitch. With not wanting to do a haunted house or hard design during the holidays this year, which I usually do, I decided now was the time to add this design to our shop models. It worked up nicely, was coded for DMC with only one Weeks Dye Floss that was used for some of the leaves, and beads accent as berries. This design was stitched on 28 Ct. Natural Linen. I especially loved the over one thread areas. When I finished, it was framed in a dark cherry frame

For the stitcher's who do not or cannot do the over one thread areas, just fill in with the color that surrounds those areas - the design will look just as nice. I usually hate going over one thread, but I did not mind this time.

SHOP MODEL-CATCHING SNOWFLAKES
If you ever have the opportunity to visit our shop, we have a kitty display year round. Yes, I like cats, and my last baby passed last year - so I found this cute design to add to our mix. Nothing hard, just a cutie. It was stitched on 28 Ct. White Evenweave fabric using DMC floss, and custom framed in a red frame

SHOP MODEL-SANTA HAT BUTTON
This cute sheep is from Shepherd's Bush and the pattern was FREE when you purchased the button. I stitched it on 18 Ct. Natural Linen using the recommended floss and make into a ornament. We do have a finisher who will make anyone's stitching into ornaments, stockings, bellpulls, and more. If interested - call for prices

SHOP MODEL-EN RETARD
When this design was released, it was love at first sight. I thought it was so cute, I just had to stitch - and if you look closely, I added a red metallic nose to the reindeer that missed Santa's Sleigh. I did substitute the 498 red DMC floss and used Cherry Wine Sampler Floss - all the rest was stitched with DMC on the Smokey Pearl Linen. I custom framed in a brushed red frame.
