 213x259 - Works by ABC presents this antique reproduction sampler that was stitched by Ann Crowther in 1833 who was 12 years of age and notes that she was a Liberated African, among the thousands of enslaved people that were rescued from slave ships headed to America by the Bristol Royal Navy; most people were brought to Sierra Leone and new communities were created where education was very important for the future of their children - this sampler was reproduced with permission by the Church Mission Society of England - D
