 226x757 - From Queenstown Sampler comes this antique reproduction sampler from Europe, most likely stitched in a Catholic convent school in Italy as the church motif on this sampler is known to be on numerous samplers from Italy. Red samplers are joyful, and blue add a little perfection. At the top are rows of various styles of alphabet letters followed by an array of motifs - including a striped tiger, dogs, birds, and small cat. Arma Christi, or Instruments of Passion are portrayed including Veronica's Veil, and a charming checkered cartouche surrounds the maker's initials and date - NPS
